100 Days Until Christmas
I have begun the countdown to Christmas on the Steampunk Christmas Facebook page. As of today, there are 100 days until Christmas.
Please feel free to join us, to see holiday craft project tutorials, recipes, festive steampunk outings, and costumes. Share what you're making for the winter holidays. Don't worry if you don't celebrate Christmas. Post your festive winter steampunk projects or projects you've made for any other winter holiday.

Sunday at DragonCon 2014
The War Doctor and Miss Frizzle prepare to go out for the day:
The steampunk detective:
Tea dueling (no I have not improved since last year).
The Tesla vs. Edison debate:
Thomas Willeford may have thought to sway votes in favor of Edison, by having a beautiful, leather bikini clad minion, but it didn't seem to work.
The results were decided by which contestant had the most money in their donation box and Tesla won. All proceeds were given to the Atlanta Community Food Bank.
We met this lovely Tardis when we went out to dinner at Meehan's Irish Pub next to the Westin.

Airship Races
The large crystal starburst chandeliers in the Westin Hotel's Peachtree Ballroom sure are pretty, right up to the point where your delicate RC airship can't seem to steer away from them.
This was the second annual Dragon*Con airship races, which is not much of a race, in the traditional sense of the word, but more of a contest to see who can make their airship maneuver even close to the set course. It's a lot of fun to watch the helium filled, mylar blimps bumble around the room and the audience often has a little thrill of danger, as the airships veer off course and careen towards their heads.

Saturday at Dragon*Con
We missed the parade this year, because after eating nothing but salty snack foods on Friday, I woke up with a migraine. DH didn't want to go to the parade anyway, so he wasn't too heartbroken when I announced I was going back to bed.
By 10:00 a.m., the Aleve I had taken was working and I was a functioning human being again.
Blaze as an inventor and DH as the War Doctor:
Our first event of the day was the airship races, but I'm going to give the airship races their own post tomorrow.
After the races, we looked at all the amazing creations in The Museum of Alternate History.
That evening, Blaze and I went to The Georgia Aquarium's Dragon*Con night.
Dinner was slices of pizza, eaten while sitting on the floor in the Marriott, people watching. That carpeting is surprisingly comfortable when you have tired feet and it would be hard to find a more entertaining dinner show.
After a little rest, we were ready for the midnight concert with The Cog is Dead.
I did not take this video, a gentleman named Mark Rossmore did, but it's the best one I've seen of the concert and it shows the very talented Tempest preforming with the band.

Back from Dragon*Con tired, but happy
So, you know those horrible check-in lines that conventions are famous for? They weren't here. This was the fastest, easiest check-in we have ever had at Dragon*Con.
This is not to say that there weren't crowds elsewhere.
There were some really amazing costumes at this year's con. Here is just a small sample.
There were so many things to see and do during the 4 days of Dragon*Con that I will have much more to post in days to come.
