The Magic of Nature

The great wizard, Blaze, will now demonstrate his ability to make wood chips fly:

We would like to thank his lovely assistant, the spider, who made this trick possible.

This was not the only amazing encounter we've had with nature this week. Tuesday as we were leaving Shands Rehab for Kids, we saw two fawns grazing on the grass near the parking lot. Today, when Blaze went to therapy, I brought my camera along. I told Blaze that I was bringing it just in case we saw the little deer, but that I didn't really expect to see them again, since we had never seen them before Tuesday.

They were there again today. In the same spot they were in Tuesday, as if they had never moved.

I had never seen deer in the city before and these were so sweet looking, I just couldn't stop taking pictures of them. They didn't seem to mind being photographed at all, and only ran off after Blaze tried talking to them.

  1. That is surprising to see deer right in the middle of so much going on! Are they mule deer?

  2. These are white-tailed deer. It worries me that they have found this small woods to live in, because it really is surrounded by people. Behind the woods is a large condo development and on the other side of those buildings I showed in my film, there is a very busy street.
