Yesterday, I showed you the Harry Potter area of Islands of Adventure. Today, I want to show you the rest of the park.
Islands of Adventure has several different, unrelated, themed areas, each with a gateway separating it from the other areas. Some of the areas are tie-ins to specific movies, like Jurassic Park and Harry Potter, but other areas are based on things like "old school" comic strips and super heros.
If you are going to Islands of Adventure, go prepared to get wet. Whether it's having a water fight in the Jurassic Park playground or splashing down a rapids in a raft, there are many opportunities to get drenched.
One of our favorite non-Harry Potter areas was Seuss Landing. We were very pleasantly surprised by the soothing colors and the calmer rides, that were still big enough for all ages.
What a fun place... so you can see this all in one day?
ReplyDeleteI think when we plan a trip we'll skip Disney and just do Universal. Looks like so much fun!
I've been to Disney about...
Yes, we were able to see this all in one day, plus ride two of the rides twice. This was all at just one of the two Universal parks. I've never been to the other one. I really like Epcot at Disney ( Disney has grown a lot in the past 28 years. There are now 4 parks). Somewhere on here I have pictures of the Disney parks (except for the Hollywood Studios Park, which I have no interest in), I'll see if I can find them and post links, so you can better plan your trip.
ReplyDeleteO.K., here are the links:

The "old school" Disney park from when we were kids is The Magic Kingdom, which still has the spinning tea cups and the Small World rides you probably remember.
Oh, if your son likes Legos, go see DownTown Disney, which is a shopping area outside of the parks. There is a large Lego store.

There is going to be a Lego Land Park opening in Florida in the Fall.
There! Have I overwhelmed you with choices now?
Thanks for the links:)
