I only made one bento lunch all last week, but I was very pleased with how it turned out. This was my first time trying this technique for making a hard cooked egg look like a hatching chick. The eyes are brown mustard seeds, which stuck to the egg yolk with just a tiny drop of water, and the beak is a bit of carrot.
The chick would be great for a Springtime or Easter breakfast or lunch, but I used it to make a farm themed lunch, with a pepperoni pig.
How kawaii! (かわいい cute) Hopefully Jasmine will grow out of her egg allergy soon.
ReplyDeleteI love the new look of your blog, very crisp looking.
Oh, is Blaze still tracing words? I found a font that you can use that has dashes so you can trace out the letters, you can find it here, http://www.fontspace.com/kids-fonts/trace
ReplyDeleteand it is free. :D
They also have a DNealian style. http://www.fontspace.com/kids-fonts/nealfont
ReplyDeleteWe've been using a program call Hand Writing Without Tears, because it's what his occupational therapist recommended. I'll go look at that site, though, because I am still having him do a page of handwriting every day.
ReplyDeleteoh my
ReplyDeletewhat you did with the egg is so cute!!
I really think you should publish some sort of book with all of these bento lunch ideas. Yours are always so cute!
ReplyDeleteWith the font you could type up a page story and just have him trace it. It doesn't do anything special, just lets you type the words/letters that you would want Blaze to write.
ReplyDeleteI saw this in the newspaper this morning and thought you might be interested on showing it to Blaze. It isn't out yet, but when it is....
