Children often have trouble understanding how dates are arranged with A.D. (Anno Domini) and B.C. (Before Christ).
Our project at school yesterday, for history class, was to sort a set of cards into a proper timeline. Each card was a full size piece of cardstock, with a fun fact and a date printed on it.
It was such a beautiful day outside, that we laid our timeline out on the grass, using a blue football for the dividing line between the year 1 A.D. and the year 1 B.C.
In past years, we have used a clothesline hung on the wall, to make a timeline, using notecards attached by clothespins.
