Events along Florida's North-East Coast This Weekend

This coming Saturday is Public Archeology Day at the Kingsley Plantation. Archeology grad. students (including DH) and their professor, from the University of Florida, will be conducting guided tours of the Plantation. The rest of the students will be working in the various units they have open around the plantation, to show the public what an archeology dig in action looks like, and maybe uncover some new artifacts.

If learning about Plantation life and archeology doesn't quench your thirst for historical knowledge, St. Augustine is having a re-enactment of Drake's raid on the city. It will include a 16th Century style military encampment at the Fountain of Youth Park, as well as a re-enactment of the sacking and burning of the town at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
