Garden of the Gods

Photobucket

On our second day in Carbondale, Illinois, Blaze and I took a day trip to the breathtakingly amazing "Garden of the Gods" in the Shawnee National Forest. The rock formations are rolled and layered in beautiful, fascinating ways and many of them have gravity defying, thin pillars with wide tops.

It really is a magical looking place, and as soon as he stepped through that first "natural bridge", Blaze announced that it reminded him of Narnia.
