A new law effecting craftspeople

If you are a person in the U.S. who hand-makes children's toys or any clothing, which you then sell, please read the following articles about the new law going into effect Feb. 10, 2009.

This law requires testing of ALL toys sold in the United States. The lawmakers seemed to have had a knee-jerk reaction to the recalls of Chinese manufactured toys last year because of lead based paint. They did not take into consideration the many work-at-home craftspeople, who do not even have access to lead based paint, because it is not available in the U.S.
Many stay-at-home moms and retirees depend on money from their homemade crafts, but they may be put out of business by this law.
All clothing "components" must be tested as well.
